Santa Barbara Wedding Venues

Santa Barbara Wedding Venues – Where to start?

Planning your wedding can be such a stressful time, but it is also fun and exciting and will help ensure that your wedding is one of the best days of your life. But where do you start? You know you want to have your wedding in Santa Barbara, probably because it’s a gorgeous city, with near perfect weather all year long. It’s perfectly situated just a couple hours from Los Angeles. There are multiple hotels, and bed & breakfasts to chose from. And the architecture throughout the city is uniquely Spanish, a look that isn’t as predominate in most other California cities.

Santa Barbara is a great city for your giant luxury wedding with hundreds of guests, or for your small destination elopement wedding with just you and your fiancé. I’ll give you a list of some of my favorite Santa Barbara wedding venues – which most can fit whatever wedding day you imagined.

santa barbara wedding photography

But first off, you’re gonna need an awesome Santa Barbara wedding photographer. Well clearly that’s where I come in. ? I’ve photographed many weddings in Santa Barbara. I love the area and all the many locations there are for wedding day or engagement session photos. Just take a look around my site to see some samples, then reach out and let me know which venue you decided on or which Santa Barbara wedding venue you’re leaning towards.

Santa Barbara Wedding Venues

Here’s a list of the beach front or close to the beach wedding venues in the Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito area. There are several to choose from and they all have their own charm. In no particular order:

  1. Bacara Resort & Spa
  2. Four Seasons Biltmore
  3. Fess Parker Hilton Santa Barbara
  4. Santa Barbara Maritime Museum
  5. Leadbetter Beach
  6. Casa Las Palmas
  7. Shoreline Alternative Area
  8. Santa Barbara Zoo
  9. The Chase Palm Park Center

Here are some more amazing wedding venues that are in the Santa Barbara area but aren’t near the beach. These are tucked in the city, and surrounding areas, and they also have great spaces to make your dream wedding come to life.

  1. Santa Barbara Courthouse
  2. Rockwood Woman’s Club
  3. Presidio de Santa Barbara
  4. Canary Santa Barbara Hotel
  5. Heartstone Ranch
  6. Godric Grove at Elings Park
  7. Casa De La Guerra
  8. Serra Hall
  9. Impact Hub
  10. Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History
  11. Santa Barbara Historical Museum
  12. Glen Annie Golf Club
  13. Villa Verano
  14. San Ysidro Ranch

It’s really hard to narrow the list down more and I’m sure I missed several as there are really so many venues in Santa Barbara. Some of these wedding venues have restrictions on guest count. Some will require you to use their own catering company, or they’ll require you to provide everything. But most of these venues are really beautiful and unique in their own ways, and no matter which you choose, I know your wedding day will be perfect.

As soon you decide on the perfect Santa Barbara wedding venue and you know the date you want is available, contact me next to make sure my calendar is open for your wedding photography!

Ventura Boudoir Photographer

Ventura Boudoir Photographer

As a Ventura Boudoir Photographer, I’m going to share how you prepare for your Boudoir Photography Session? Most of my clients have no idea how to get ready for such a revealing and intimate session. Boudoir sessions are really not too difficult to prepare for. This post will give you a better understanding of what to do and what to expect during your boudoir session.

Arrive in Loose Fitting Clothing

The first simple thing to do is not to wear overly tight fitting clothing within an hour of your session. Maxi dresses, sweatpants, leggings are all great options. Clothing that you can take on and off quickly is a plus since you’re limited on time. The reason for the loose fitting clothes is you don’t want it to leave an imprint or mark on your skin right before being photographed.

Outfits

The package you chose may restrict the amount of outfits you can change into. You’re thinking, “wait, I have to come up with more that ONE outfit?!” Don’t worry, it’s really pretty simple. Pick one or two outfits that you feel sexy and confident in. Check with your photographer to see what they recommend as well. I use multiple different fabrics for draping, and often shoot a lot of implied nudes. Implied nude means you might have something on, but the way the fabric covers you, it’ll seem like you’re naked. This makes choosing outfits a lot easier.

Props

Bring a prop or two. I don’t mean whips and chains, although there’s nothing wrong with that, and I’ve definitely had clients bring some before for their session. Think outside the box. Are these boudoir photos for you or a gift to your boyfriend, girlfriend, fiance, husband or wife? What is your significant other interested in? Are they a big sports fan? If they are, bring along a sports jersey or a hat. You can also bring your husband’s favorite tie. Bring a prop you can use that will make your pictures more meaningful.

Hair & Makeup

Most of my boudoir packages include a hair and makeup artist. Show up to the shoot with your hair dry and washed the day before (makes it easier to style if it isn’t freshly washed). Arrive at the session with just moisturizer on your face. Don’t put on any foundation or coverup, the makeup artist will just have to take it all off of you. And don’t forget to tip them when they’re finished!

Hands & Feet

Your fingers and toe nails will very likely be seen in your photos. Your nails need to be clean and either completely unpolished, or freshly polished. Also a pair of heels can make you feel extra sexy.

Attitude

Try not to stress over knowing someone is going to be seeing you so exposed. The photographer has seen it all before and won’t judge you. Their main goal is the same as yours, to make you look amazing! Drinking a glass of wine or maybe a shot of vodka right before the session can help take the edge off. Don’t drink too much though as it can make you look flushed. And of course remember not to drive after you drink unless it’s definitely worn off!

I’ve been photographing boudoir portraits for a long time now and I love helping you look and feel beautiful! This list should give you a better idea on how to prepare for your boudoir photography session. If you’re looking for a Ventura boudoir photographer, and you need more tips or ideas don’t be afraid to reach out!

Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer

I’m a Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer. I moved to Pittsburgh a couple years ago and now am back in California but I travel back and forth regularly. While in Pittsburgh, we bought a home in Churchill, right next to the Edgewood Country Club. I got really familiar with the area while living there and was able to photograph weddings in the city and the surrounding areas. Most weddings I photograph are in downtown Pittsburgh but several are in Shadyside, Fox Chapel, Mount Lebanon, Robinson Township, Wexford, Oak Mont and Monroeville. There’s so many great photography locations and venues in this area. It won’t be hard for you to find a spot that will fit your wedding day perfectly. The Pennsylvanian is such a popular wedding venue. And you can’t go wrong with Phipps Conservatory, the Omni Penn or something smaller like Point Breezeway!

I love meeting my clients and getting to know them. Sometimes just a video chat on FaceTime or Skype is enough to meet each other and see how we mesh. Reach out and we can plan a time to talk, and I’d be happy to recommend some great spots. I’ll also make sure as your Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer, I’ll be able to take you to the best places if you don’t have somewhere that stands out to you already.

Pittsburgh Engagement and Wedding Photography

Ventura Wedding Photographer

Ventura Wedding Photographer

I’m based in the Ventura area so by rights I’m a Ventura Wedding Photographer. I love traveling all through out the state, the country, and even the world. Although most of the weddings I photograph are in Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Santa Barbara, Westlake, Ojai, and Somis. There’s so many great photography locations and venues in this area, it won’t be hard for you to find a spot that will fit your wedding day perfectly. There are also so many amazing wedding vendors in this area, you’ll have no problem planning your day.

I love meeting my clients and getting to know them over coffee. Sometimes just a video chat on FaceTime or Skype is enough to meet each other and see how we mesh. Reach out and we can plan a time to talk, and I’d be happy to recommend some great spots. Since I photograph so many weddings in Ventura, I know of a ton of great areas to go to get cool and unique backdrops for your engagement photography or your wedding photography. And of course if you have somewhere that stands out to you already, I’d love to go there too!

Beach Wedding Photography

crowne plaza ventura beach wedding photography

Because I’m a Wedding Photographer in Ventura, I know that beach weddings are perfect. Not just in Ventura, but also in Oxnard, Port Hueneme, and of course Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Montecito, and Malibu. They always look amazing, and they have such a relaxed and natural feel. You can still have that luxury wedding you dreamed of having. I love photographing destinations weddings around the world, but with the sun and the sand here in Southern California, you don’t need to go far to get that tropical destination wedding! Ventura county is a perfect location for your wedding photography!

Ventura Engagement and Wedding Photography

Engagement sessions in Ventura County are a great option. We have so many beautiful areas you can go for photos. Downtown Ventura has some perfect areas. Ventura Beach or Oxnard Beach also make really nice backdrops for your Ventura engagement photography session.

When I first started photographing weddings and engagement sessions nearly 10 years ago, I always would go to the beach. The beach is such a great choice and it really never gets old. But sometimes you want someplace a little more unique. Or you’d like to go somewhere that has more meaning to you and your fiancé. One of my favorite engagement sessions I photographed was in downtown Ventura. We walked around near the Ventura Mission and stopped at Starbucks to get some coffee. We got some really cool and natural shots of them just walking across the street and sipping their drinks on an outdoor patio. This engagement session was photographed in the fall, and if you’re not familiar with SoCal, you should know that we rarely get those amazing fall colors. But we found a couple of trees right next to a parking structure of all places, and we were able to get some fun shots under the bright yellow leaves.

I really LOVE being a Ventura Wedding Photographer!

One of my favorite wedding venues that is quintessentially Ventura is the Crowne Plaza! This property has such amazing views of the ocean. You can see all of the Channel Islands from your sweetheart table. Then being able to have such easy access to the beach right in front of your wedding venue is really nice. It’s actually the only beachfront property in Ventura! The Pierpont Inn is also in Ventura but it’s technically across the street from the beach so although it’s a lovely property, it makes beach access a little less convenient. Still definitely worth checking out though!

Santa Barbara Wedding Photographer

Santa Barbara Wedding Photographer

I love being a Santa Barbara Wedding Photographer! Years ago I lived in Santa Barbara and I really loved living in the city. I was right in downtown so getting to State St was so convenient. Alice Keck Park, which is a great place for engagement photography, was literally only a block away from my house. I still live close by in Ventura and I have so many weddings in Santa Barbara, I feel like I never moved. Most of the weddings I photograph in Santa Barbara County are in Montecito, Carpinteria, Goleta, Solvang, Santa Ynez, and Los Olivos.

There’s so many great photography locations and venues in this area, and throughout wine country. It won’t be hard for you to find a spot that will fit your wedding day perfectly. The Santa Barbara Courthouse is such a popular wedding venue. It has so many gorgeous areas and the architecture is stunning! You can have an intimate elopement on the property or a huge wedding ceremony and both options are amazing there!

Santa Barbara Vineyard Wedding Photography

If you love wine and all the great vineyards we have so close to Santa Barbara, then you won’t need to go far to check out some beautiful wineries to have a wedding. Wedding photography in Santa Barbara county area vineyards is really popular and there are a ton of places to choose from.

Sometimes just a video chat on FaceTime or Skype is a more convenient way to meet each other and see how we mesh. Reach out and we can plan a time to talk, and I’d be happy to recommend some great spots. I’ll give you plenty of suggestions for places to go in Santa Barbara for your wedding photography. I’ll be able to take you to some local favorites and some hidden gems if you don’t have somewhere that stands out to you already.

Favorite Santa Barbara Wedding Photography Areas

One of my favorite wedding venues in Santa Barbara is the Four Seasons Biltmore. It’s right across the street from the beach, and the property itself is so beautiful. There’s plenty of lush green areas, and one of the ceremony sites is right where you can see the beach in the background. They have several intricate fountains, luxurious rooms for getting ready photos, and plenty of gorgeous areas for your reception. If you run out of photo locations on the property, head across the street to Butterfly Beach and you won’t be disappointed! One of my favorite weddings I’ve ever photographed in Santa Barbara was at this hotel.

Winery Wedding Photography

Being a Santa Barbara wedding photographer makes it so I’m often up in wine country. Because I go up there often I’ve seen some wineries and vineyards that would make perfect wedding venues. Los Olivos, Solvang, and Santa Ynez are some of the better places to go in Santa Barbara County to find the nice and larger vineyards. That luxury wedding you dreamed of having fits in perfectly in Santa Barbara county. If you’re craving that destination wedding and Italy isn’t quite going to work out, staying local in Santa Barbara is an excellent option.

Santa Barbara Engagement and Wedding Photography

If you’re planning to take your engagement photos in Santa Barbara, then you’ve made a great choice! There’s so many beautiful areas for pictures. You could check out Alice Keck Park, or there’s also the Funk Zone which is a pretty new area with a ton of restaurants, lounges and bars. The beaches by the Fess Parker are really nice as well. These are just some of the great areas you can consider for your Santa Barbara engagement photography session.

If you’re looking for a Santa Barbara wedding photographer that is fun, easy going, and takes pretty awesome pictures in Santa Barbara county, then you came to the right place! Please contact me!

Wedding at the Glenn Annie Golf Course Santa Barbara

Wedding at the Glenn Annie Golf Course Santa Barbara

Wedding at the Glenn Annie Golf Course Santa Barbara. Victoria and Jordan’s wedding was so much fun! Their day started off with some getting ready photos at the gorgeous Bacara Resort and Spa. The Bacara is a beautiful resort right on a cliff, overlooking the beach in Santa Barbara. There are very few true beach front properties in Santa Barbara, and the Bacara not only is beachfront, but it’s truly gorgeous. Victoria and her bridesmaids all wore matching, pretty, floral robes while they got ready for the wedding. I also got some fun pictures of them getting their hair and makeup done. We also got some cute ones of all of them together sipping mimosas before heading to the ceremony.

The ceremony was at the Glenn Annie Golf Club in Goleta. This wedding went so ridiculously smooth! They didn’t even have a coordinator helping out other than Glenn Annie’s, Jessica, who was super sweet and helpful. I’d normally always recommend having a dedicated wedding coordinator to help ensure the day goes as planned. So much can happen, and so much can go wrong, a coordinator can save a lot of tears and headaches!

Victoria basically did all of the flowers herself, including the center pieces and the details at the ceremony site. She had her and her bridesmaids bouquets done by Magdalena at Gelsons. There was a fireplace at the venue that made for a cool looking backdrop, later in the evening, Victoria and Jordan sat in front of it for some intimate photos together. I especially loved the cake that Amber from Enjoy Cupcakes made! It was so cute and looked delicious, kinda sad I didn’t end up eating any of it!

Anyway, without further ado, here’s some from their special day…
